Dh & I have decided (thanks to the Supernanny ) that when our nearly-5 yr old ds misbehaves in future, he is to sit on a chair in the laundry as a time-out. We used to send him to his bedroom but thought that the boring old laundry room would be more effective.

I was trying to tell ds in a firm voice today what would happen if he misbehaved, and he piped up and said "I know, I know - I get a free ticket to the laundry." LOL. I don't know where he got that expression from but I just laughed out loud. It's a bit hard to stay angry at them sometimes, isn't it

Hi Nic, we have used this method of punishment for a long while on our DS1 who is 4 1/2, then about 6 months ago it sort of stopped working, so we have moved it to our bedroom and now it works a treat again!
