Is it possible to borrow 2 mins of your time to do a survey for me for my studies? Please?

Hello,
I really hope this is allowed. I am a photography student and part of my course is to build a business plan for a fake company I am going to set up. So I thought I'd base it on wedding photography as that's probably the most "realistic" business I could do if I was to set up my own business, iyswim.

Anyway, I'd really appreciate it if anyone could fill out the survey for me. Not all the questions have to be answered, so if you'd rather not answer one, that's fine. There's only 8 questions anyway as I'm having a mental block! Lol. But would really really appreciate it.

Survey is here

TIA

Tis done..and just to explain myself slighty...I have no problem with paying decent money for a decent photographer, but we paid £1k for him without an album...and I regret it.

Also question 8 is a wonderful idea...

Done it.
Just one thing to add - when we went to visit our wedding photog, he had fab baby pics up on his wall, which inspired me to return year after year to have him photo my dcs.

I think perhaps you should have included the area/postcode where the wedding would take place. Where I live most prices started at £1k hence we didn't have a professional photographer.

Heh, how on topic, I had a meeting with a potential photographer this afternoon.

I make a point of doing these surveys as when I was doing my degree the lovely people on here (100 of them!) filled in mine & they were great about it

Good luck in your studies!!

the reason we choose our photographer was because we owned the copyright to the photos. We didn't get an album but we did get all the high res images on CD as well as a binder of print outs. Just another thing to consider

Thank you everyone. I'm thrilled so many people have done it! Thank you! And for the extra pointers. The baby pics and CDs are good ideas too I may just have to consider whilst writing my plan up

Cargirl I did consider that when I was writing it as obviously there will be price differences in different areas, but thought it was easier just putting it generally rather than narrowing it down.

Thank you once again everyone!

Oh and I just thought of another question I forgot to put in there, which I've just added, but for those of you who have already taken it and don't mind answering here, it's

what would you prefer when meeting the photographer?

Meeting at your house
Meeting at his/her house
Meeting somewhere neutral like at a coffee shop for example
An office if they owned one
A studio if they owned one
Or other

I may just spring another survey out on portraits as I was toying with that idea as well lol.

done. absolutely no concept of how much a wedding photographer would cost for a day. Am shocked at people paying £1k +

Superduperloopthelooper · 06/11/2009 22:00

I would prefer an office or studio, more business-like .

MrsKitty · 06/11/2009 22:06

When I was meeting photographers I met two at their homes, one in my home and one in a bar (he was the one I booked in the end!).

TBH what I preferred most was being given the option of different meeting places - The others told me where we'd meet, whereas the one I met in the bar gave me the choice of his studio, my home or somewhere neutral (which just happened to serve beer )
