Help me decide on whether to have 3rd child...

I'm 41, already have 2 boys aged nearly 5 and nearly 3 who are fantastic, if very hard work, would desperately love a little girl to complete the family (though I realise I may get another boy!). Am I too old for a third? Will I ruin the family dynamic? Most of me thinks I should stick to the status quo as I'm incredibly lucky to have 2 healthy boys, but there's just this niggling feeling that my family's not complete yet. Any experiences or advice?

Our dcs are 5 & 3, so no 2 will just have started school if no 3 makes an appearance, which works very well for us - will have 1-1 time with nb and also be able to take the children to and from school everyday for 9m.

Like Ilikesunshine, we feel incomplete yet also blessed by the two we have. We already have the baby stuff and although a new car would be more practical, it's perfectly possible to manage without a people carrier. The only real cost factor is maternity leave but a break from a career I'm having doubts about would be no bad thing.

But we're not going to beat ourselves up if we don't manage to have a third either. We had decided to ttc for a third in a few months, although possibly have jumped the gun - will know soon.

Go for it! I'm planning my 4th! I have 3 lovely, adorable sons and would love a girl! If it's another boy I'd be happy too! If you can afford them and have room, do it. You'll never regret having them once there born, but you may regret not having anymore!
