How can I make a wool school jumper less itchy ??

Hi, my daughter has to wear a plain navy blue round neck jumper for school. They are very strict on uniform. It is 80% wool and my daughter refuses to wear it as she says it's itchy. Would fabric softener help?
Either that or we'll have to buy some long sleeve blowses.
I'd be greatful for any tips.

I'm sure I've heard that using hair conditioner helps but I may have imagined that?!

I've never managed to make wool less itchy - fabric softener doesn't work IME. I think some people are more sensitive to it than others.

It seems that I didn't imagine it after all!

Oh brilliant. I'll try that and a long sleeve blowse and hopefully that will do the trick.
If not I'll have to search all the shops for one that looks the same but is more acrylic.
