and far too many 'one's in that title, sorry.

DD2 has a nasty cold, I had it last week and lost my voice, she is ok to potter around but won't let me out of ehr sight and is ultra clingy. She does not want to go out. A trip to the park ended in snotty tears and hysterics.
DD1 is fine, bit of a runny nose but nothing else. She wants to go everywhere. She is at nursery at the moment but as soon as I pick her up at half 11 she will be asking if she cn go to a friends (mostly heavily pregnant or sick already) or soft play or the park, and she won't want to stay in.

I ended up with dvds on yesterday afternoon to distract DD1 from having to stay in whiel DD2 sobbed and napped on me.

AAAgh!

Much sympathy from here. I have one ill pre-schooler and I'd never cope with a second one to distract. DVDs again today I think and lots of tea and MN for you.

Thanks, I just feel so cruel keeping DD1 inside (our garden is shiteola) and yet I can't take DD2 out.
AT least they have been in teh playground at nursery so she has had 2 hours running around and 'doing' stuff.

Gah, sounds dreadful. Not sure what to advise to be honest. I hope you manage to muddle through the rest of the day. And that someone comes here with top tips

JackBauer · 01/10/2009 11:02

I think I need reassurance that DD1 will survive with cbeebies and a dvd for a few days with no ill effects!
It is DD2's 2nd birthday next week adn we are taking them both to a petting zoo/fair thing as a treat so that will alleviate guilt as it will be a whole day outside!

good lord, if that's all you need JB then I'm happy to oblige!

my 2 pre-schoolers (1.4 & 2.8) currently surviving on dvds and cbeebies as they're both up at night (teething and god-knows-what respectively) and I'm too shattered to contemplate leaving the house! Your DD1 will be fine.

When one of mine had chicken pox, I invited friends round (who were already ill or had had cp) to keep the well child entertained. Is there anyone willing to risk DD2's cold germs or who already has it who could come to play?

JackBauer · 01/10/2009 11:09

No-one that doesn't have a small child tht they might not want infected. But good idea though!

thanks.

Off to get DD1 now, maybe atop in teh bakery on the way back (ooh, the excitement!)

FernieB · 01/10/2009 11:56

Been there, done that - Cbeebies is wonderful. Some days, those presenters were my best friends.

JackBauer · 01/10/2009 12:20
