DS is almost 2. Obviously he's well out of the baby stage, the PND is pretty much gone, and I'm finding teeny tiny clothes way too cute.

or am I just feeling hormonal because my little boy isn't a baby anymore....

DS1 was 2 when we started trying for DS2.

My dd is 2 soon. I think I have finally forgotten how awful pg was enough to start thinking about number 2..Only 9 months, not long really is it??

sunburntats - arf! No, our DS is amazing. I just DREAD the baby phase. Massive PND last time, took 9 months to bond with him, issues with the birth etc.

he's amazing though, funny, happy and generally well behaved.

It's the sleep.... we had 15 months of crap nights. Hopefully it'll be better next time.

I warn you though I've got broodier after each one and now really want no.4!!!

I understand and that is why my ds is 6 and i could not have considered having another baby. Exsactly what you describe.

my ds didnt sleep trhough till he was 4 years old, i had awful PND an awful pregnancy /birth.
You are so lucky to feel ready now, its a lovely age gap.

Aw - I was looking at booties and bibs at the market this morning with my aunt, who has just become a grandma. We were both ! Little baby smell.....

The first year will be hell on earth, I know this. I'm scared of DS missing out on attention, and he's got such a lovely character and is now (finally) a good sleeper, that I'm almost loathed to introduce a sibling...

I am 32 though, and obviously don't have all the time in the world...

it is only when they are much older that you realise how they were still tiny at 2!

Electric, my first year wasnt hell on earth - apart from say 4 weeks of colic (or something) it was lovely! THAT put me off having another one, as my thought is i will never be THAT lucky again! You might have angel baby like mine.

DS didn't have colic, but we did have to put him on Comfort Milk (which made a massive difference to his stomach, but had a horrific side effect wrt nappies)

Notanotter - how old are yours? You're obviously right - DS1 is my only and can't imagine what he'll be like in a few years. He seems so old already!

I just don't see how you can possibily cope with two?!
I think I'm scared because I looked after another baby when mine was 1yo. HARDEST thing I've ever done.

dreading the fact that it will be that hard, and dreading the effect on DS.

I'm the eldest btw, so think that has an impact - I do remember my two younger sisters getting all the attention and feeling resentful.

I have that age gap between my dc's. It is hard work at the beginning but now they play together and so I can have a cup of tea in peace (for a short while!) Good Luck with your decision.
