Do any brand of nappies make pull-ups in size 4+? Help!

I use pull-ups rather than nappies with tabs for DS as he will not stay still to be changed at all, and if I try to use the tab nappies they go all wonky where the tabs attach because I can't keep him still, and then leak everywhere.

Anyway he is in size 4 but I had noticed they were looking a bit trim on him, now every time he does a poo it explodes everywhere - they are not big enough to contain it. I bought some size 5s to try and they are too big and leak wee onto his clothes so have put them away for a while.

So I looked to buy some size 4+ and it seems none of the brands make them in that size - it's 4 or 5 only. Help! Does anyone know of any? And because you would have thought that this type of nappy (ie unadjustable) would be the one they need more sizes of, not fewer.

Failing that have you got any ideas on what I should do? The only thing I could think of was to get some washable nappy wraps and use them to try to contain the poo, or try to predict it and sit him on a potty or something! He is fairly predictable in his pooing, or he was, he has been doing them at different times this week.

The sizes overlap quite a bit - if he's snug in a four, he'll fit fine in a 5. You can actually get them to fit up to age seven so I would think you can sort this. Big supermarkets sell them or you can normally buy them online. Google the brand you like and email them and they will tell you where to get them locally.

I tried a 5 though and they are too big, they sag down at the legs when he has only weed in them once so they then leak onto his clothes.

Huggies I think maybe. Maybe put a size four on then a five over the top? Not very helpful I know.

how about a size 4 in a different brand - you'll probably find one that's a bit bigger? tesco's own nappies seem a bit bigger than pampers for eg, maybe the pull ups are too?

If you have friends with similar sized/aged children ask what brand they use and if they mind letting you try one or two rather than buying a whole packet?

Similar problem with my DD and I'd given up on the 4s until I decided it was stupid to have a huge packet of them hanging around until number 2 (still gestating!!) gets round to using them. So anyway, THEN I found that actually, although they are a bit trim, as long as it's on her properly, ie without a wedgey and pulled nicely up on her tum, then we don't have the explosive poo problem etc etc.
5s are still too big for her, so i do sympathise - i haven't been able to find a singe 4+ pull up nappy for which i share your face, definitely annoying!
I've also found that I can now put on a 'normal'/tagged nappy no matter what position she's in...she's a wriggler but somehow, I seem to manage it. It's not a brag, it's just to say, necessity sometimes enables some interesting skills to develop!!

Same prob with my dd (2) no pull ups in 4 plus in any brand as far as I could see.
The Sainsburys pullons fit her ok though. Have you tried them?

Morrisons do them.

My 2.5 year old is too small for a 5 in pullups and too big for a 4, so 4+ is her only option.

Or the Morrisons Size 4+ Pullups with one of those Tots Bots Wraps over the top for extra waterproofing?

Or a fleece liner inside a nappy to soak up excess? (Google ReUsable Nappies for wraps and liners info).

Or even try resuable nappies as they don't come in standard sizing but have a size system of their own, but that's a whole other universe!

yep cat64 i do that manoeuvre too!

Cat64 I used to do that... it doesn't work any more He wriggles his hips and makes it impossible to do it up straight. And the screaming!

Good to know that Morrisons do them, thanks. I think if necessary I could get good at doing up tabs in random positions but if I can get the pull ups it will save my sanity.

I was using reusable nappies but switched to disposables, it's a long story... I could possibly switch back but he is 11 months now so not sure the cost will be justified, I don't know when I will have another baby but it's not likely to be for some time

Those are the ones that I can't put on, TBE, because he wriggles too much so the tabs end up wonky.
