and a hapy birthday to your DD 4

BaronConker · 20/09/2009 10:57

myjob - the gelato thing is just a preference, I don't like tie dye either but I know lots of people do, I prefer plain colours or spots or stripes, not that sort of swirly effect. I think it's cos it reminds me of my 80s gothic phase!!!

ThePinkOne · 20/09/2009 13:01

Thanks Scotia, think I'll give them a miss then! An ebay seller is doing a bundle of 5 itti bittis for £60 if that's of interest to anyone

Happy birthday mini4.

Did a night shift last night so just trying to get going, slept till 1.30 but have a headache.

Nappies on the line in the sunshine. DH was alone with dd2 last night - I wonder how the nappies went? I haven't looked whats on her, but it feels very snug........

......BBSS with no inserts? Empty Fuzzi Bunz? We'll see at change time!

Octothechildherder · 20/09/2009 14:17

Lacksy - yes the maker is called natural baby - can't find them anywhere - have been through pages and pages on google but no sign of them. It is a new nappy.

Octothechildherder · 20/09/2009 14:17

lol @ unstuffed stuffables

Scotia · 20/09/2009 14:58

Grrr. It's my turn today to be annoyed about the CNT classifieds!

Somebody took advantage of my good nature for the last time

newspaperdelivery · 20/09/2009 15:39

I got sent a threadbare nappy, and one from another site with fluff bunnies all stuck in the seams

Bad nappy karma dude! S'no good!

ilovemydogandmrobama · 20/09/2009 17:04

Have paid for nappies apparently lost in the post.

Why wouldn't you send recorded?

4andnotout · 20/09/2009 17:10

I don't send recorded but i do keep proof of postage so that i could claim from R.M if needed, i haven't ever had anything go astray yet

Spent about an hour putting all the nappies together and sorting inserts out this morning, it is a job i put off doing but i actually quite enjoy it once i start!

ilovemydogandmrobama · 20/09/2009 17:14

In my case, how do I 'prove' that I didn't receive them?

I have bought off this person before and the nappies were in good condition and arrived quickly.

Babybots · 20/09/2009 17:18

Ilove - you dont need to prove they didnt arrive, proof of posting is not legally proof of delivery, anyone that doesnt want to run the risk should always send recorded!!

4andnotout · 20/09/2009 17:21

If i were told anything i sent had not arrived, i would just refund and then claim back from rm, thats all i were saying.

ilovemydogandmrobama · 20/09/2009 17:23

Sure, but goods are insured for up to £30.00 without being sent recorded, and seems to me that it's unusual for things to go missing in the post? I mean, they have to go somewhere right?

I am only guessing that the nappies weren't sent recorded, as if they were, the response from the seller would have been, 'no problem, will get them traced from my end...'

Babybots · 20/09/2009 17:34

The one time I sent something not recorded it never made its destination, well it did but didnt as the stamp came off (that the post office put on!!) I then had to pay to get back something I had paid to post.

I would not trust standard post with an empty parcel let alone one that contains gorgeous fluff.

Also i now it happens alot that when people get things sent to them unrecorded they claim it never arrives (not implying anything) a friend of DH's claims that anything he buys off ebay that comes like that never arrives.

swampster · 20/09/2009 20:23

OK, so following on from mumface and ilovemydog discussing wraps to go over a Bedbug this morning, DS3 is wearing a green one with a freshly lanolised large navy-with-green-snaps Sugar Peas wool wrap over. It is a trifle loose, he is a skinny mini with snake hips but it looks really sweet - like they were made for each other. Hope it is lanolised enough to last the night!

mumface · 20/09/2009 20:34

OOh that sounds a lovely combo, green is one of my fave nappy colours,(lime itti my favourite colour nappy out of about 50 nappies!) I can't wait to find out which colours bedbugs Babybots is getting in. I want 2 more as they take forever to dry!

Debs75 · 20/09/2009 20:48

Hi I have a 1 year old and we use severasl different types of reusables. Motherease, Diddy Diapers and Tot Bots. The totbot wrap seems to have left a line of little spots around the top of her legs and the skin is quite rough. Any tips on how to stop this, I have tried nappy creams but it is still quite spotty.

mumface · 20/09/2009 21:24

Debs I have the same problem with Tots wraps on Lewis (2yrs) he used to be fine but now gets a sore rash around his tummy & legs where the wrap touches the skin. I have had to stop using them, it's as though he has suddenly become allergic to them. I use pockets on him now. Maybe you could try wool or fleece.

LatinDAISYcal · 20/09/2009 21:26

cushie tushies question...I washed mine today and it looks like the material of the inserts has shrunk as the fleece backing is much baggier.....is this normal? also, the nappy itself feels like it has paggin in it too....can the nappy be used without either of the inserts? I just assumed the cover bit was just a cover and the absorbent bit was in the inserts.

myjob, where di you get the pattern for your longies? I can only find patterns for ones knitted on circular pins rather than in two halfs like yours. Can you link or email me the pattern? daisybump at yahoo dot co dot uk....cheers

4andnotout · 20/09/2009 21:33

Daisy you have to sort of stretch the inserts when wet to get them back to shape, and i think their is a certain amount of padding in the actual nappy.

LatinDAISYcal · 20/09/2009 21:33

for paggin (wtf????) read padding!!

Debs, is it the older style tots wrap with gussets, or the new style? I had issues with DD with the older style wraps; same sort of problem but she had huge oval eczema patches, but the new wraps don't affect her in the same way.

I have sent stuff out recorded, and also just standard delivery and never had an issue with any claims (touch wood). My ebay stuff I have been selling recently I've just sent out second class but got proof of posting; not sure that would cover me in the event of a dispute though . Nappies I've sold I usually send out recorded; not for the sake of proof, but because I wouldn't want any gorgeous fluff getting lost in the post

LatinDAISYcal · 20/09/2009 21:34

thanks 4...I did that with them, but they are still a bit baggy looking....need to stretch more obviously!!

LatinDAISYcal · 20/09/2009 21:41

well, I finally have something online!!! Just a holding page and information but things are coming together

now, how does one get one's google rating up?

Babybots · 20/09/2009 21:56

Latin - if you as that over on the sellers forum, MrBots will give you some ideas!!
