When can I invite anohter child home for tea?

DS has been at his new school for 3 days. He wants to invite a boy I his clas home for tea.

Would it be a bit freakish to invite someone so soon? (ie tommorow)

How long should I leave it?

How come a grown woman with 3DC's does not know the etiquette on this???

I'd make a friendly overture, but maybe not expect things to happen straight away....

Why don't you just tell the boy's mum that your ds has said this - it's very sweet and you can make light of it whilst paving the way to make a proper plan when everyone feels ready.

Talk to the boy's mum tomorrow. Make friends with her. Find out her name etc and mention that you'd like her son to come over to play sometime next week.

I'd say it's never too soon.
