Where are the best places to get trainers for toddlers?

This will be my 2.4 year old DS's first pair. Can anyone recommend any good (but not too expensive) sports shops that would measure his feet and get him a properly fitted pair?
I still think he's too young for cheapie shoes.

I had this same dilemma yesterday. Went to Clarks and to a shop that stocks Startrite and they didn't have ds's size (he is a 7). They were £25 and £30 which I thought was a bit much for trainers.

Ds only needs his for P.E. at preschool so I ordered some from Next. How about JJB sports?

Thanks willtry.
Will try somewhere like JJB but often you get young, vacant-looking kids working in these places who don't seem to have a clue!
I agree, £25 and £30 is a bit much. I'm just not sure if trainers need to be properly fitted or I can get away with a cheaper pair!
