Wasn't sure where to post this, but I'll give it a shot here . We're going to Spain to stay in a relative's house, and their neighbour has kindly offered us the use of a cot and mattress for DS. It has been used by her grandchildren, but not sure how many or how long ago.

I know second hand mattresses are a big no-no for a newborn, but if I wrapped it in a waterproof cover, then placed a travel cot mattress over it + a sheet, would it be safe to use then? Or should I just get a new mattress when we get there.

Thanks

Should be fine I would think.

DS was sleeping on an ordinary air mattress whilst camping at that age.
