I reached screaming point today and feel ashamed.

I have a 2yo ds and he does what I imagine all tantrum-prone 2 year old boys do - i.e. be a complete and utter nightmare sometimes.

I won't go into the boring details, as on a patenting site I am sure most readers will be picturing the scene well enough. Kicking, screaming, refusing to simple 'reasonable tasks' (let me dress you), scratching, pinching etc... if I was him I would have been 'taken into care' by now. I am covered in bruises and am worried my foot is broken (it hurts like mad, talk about a bear with a sore head, I am a bear with sore foot) where he stamped on it when I was bare foot the other week... but that's all beside the point really.

I went into a corner of the room (no pillow available) and just screamed. I am worried I have 'damaged' him. Am I worthy of being reported to social services? What other remedies could be used?

Feeling ashamed and inadequate. Am I the only one? Come and hold my hand please.

parenting not patenting, sorry.

(Another thing DS does / did was rip half the keys off my keyboard, so typing has been a challenge for the past few months. Grrr.)

You could have left the room. But we've all lost it with our two and three year olds. I sometimes used to get a bit cross with myself for remembering that I could have gone and screamed and thumped a cushion in a different room after the event. Its hard to have sensible thoughts when you've flipped though .

Well, you haven't got pillows. Otherwise you could piled them on him and sat on top with a biscuit and a glass of something tasty.
Seriously, you didn't hurt him, just showed him that you are human and have limits.
