Can you recommend a 'tv' chair for a 1 year old?

Not that DD watches TV all day obviously...

but I'm on my own, and every morning she has her milk watching tv in her bouncy chair whilst I get ready, but now she's too big for it and yesterday threw herself sideways, chair toppling after her.

Bouncy chairs all appear to be for babies. Any recommendations for a 1 year old? I like the look of the little armchairs but they don't have a harness to keep her in it. Any suggestions please?

Is she too big for a Bumbo? You can get them second hand on ebay for less than a fortune, or they were selling them for about £26 in pink in our local mothercare last week.

We have this Fisher Price chair which was fine for a 1yo. It has a strap to stop 'em escaping and will do up until she's 2.

Is she only just 1?

I suppose you could put her in her high chair in front of the television if you need to keep her occupied?

If she needs to be strapped in to make her watch it, maybe you'd have more success setting her up with a pile of toys?

I expect one year old would have no problem getting out of a bumbo. I think a beanbag or an arm chair would be fine.

Or could you get a large baby pen, then she would have some freedom to move without getting up to mischief. Although its understandable that you want a rest it seems a bit extreme strapping down a toddler. It will inhibit her development.

Why don't you baby proof the room?

A bumbo isn't going to hold a 1 yo.

I'm on my own with DS (1) and DD (3 weeks).

DS adores Peppa pig and watches it on a orning, when I feed DD and before bed when he has his milk.

He sits quite happily on the bed or sofa.

If I HAVE to leave him, he's in a travel cot / play pen for safety. He's too mobile to be left alone.

I agree with harimosmummy a playpen is definately a better idea. We have a babydan one that also works as a room divider. I think they're about £90 new, but you will be able to sell it when you're done and get a fair bit of money for it. Our one is third-hand and still looks good, they're indestructible. The downside is that they do take up a lot of room, but at least you will be able to go to the loo in peace!

We have this for DS. He's had it since he was about 8 months. We don't actually have a dining table and we sit on the floor and eat our dinner on a coffee table (no room in our poky little terrace for a bigger table) so he eats his meals in it mostly. Although it is designed to attach to a chair it sits on the floor. He happily gets into it himself and still insists on clipping himself into it at 2 and a half. It did come in handy for keeping him clipped in so I could clean him up before he stood and trailed crumbs and sticky fingers all over! He also uses it sometimes for activities such as felt pens or playdough (to confine the mess to a smaller space). Sometimes he just sits in there to watch TV (because he's decided to!).
Because he was getting older and I wanted a proper space for him to play and eat he now has this and this. We sort of alternate which he uses according to circumstances and/or his personal choice. In the mornings he tends to sit in the booster for his breakfast, but more and more is sitting on his little table for meals (sometimes I join him for lunch as it is large enough).

Another vote for a playpen. DS watches ITNG from his playpen if I need to get on wit stuff.

That armchair that TeamEdward has linked to from Ikea has been used non stop in my house since DD1 was 2 (so nearly 5 years), it is fab. DD2 loves sitting in it with her milk watching a bit of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

My ds 5 and my grandaughter 1 both have the toys r us rocking armchairs with foot stool and they love it but like you said no harness ,if you need straps i would consider a playpen or high chair.
