octo - they are low in the rise and stretch on. They end up not being as low in the rise as itti's. Blake has awful builder's bum in large ittis!

4andnotout · 19/08/2009 22:25

Evening all

Have sorted my stash and i have:
2 easifits
2 wnos
1 udos
11 bbos

16 itti's med
16 itti's large

9 bbh's
4 flexitots
1 babybufters

I tried dd4 in a large itti today thinking that i could sell the mediums and buy rachel's pram but they are still far too big across the rear, she had huge gaps around her legs which i'm not confident would contain her poo's.

Octo-I love all those prints, i think my boho's look so much better in the flesh than the pictures, they are so funky

4 - fluffy post on its way! I have requested more of the pink boho

picklemumma · 19/08/2009 23:25

Excuse me for butting in (!) but I was surpised by the discussion of washing powders here, as I presume that some of you use cloth nappies for environmental reasons? I always use powders such as Ecover or BioD and have never had any probs with cleaning. Washing powders that contain surfectants and fragrances have a detrimental effect on aquatic life and take much greater volumes of water to neutralise, after they've gone down your drain. I can't see that they are justifiable or necessary. But I'm just using a stash of old 2 part once-white MotherEase nappies my friend passed onto me so they didn't end up in the landfill, or as dusters. I find them quite effective enough. I'll clear off now to watch the very entertaining sex-whilst-camping thread again and not bother you again. Cheerio!

swampster · 20/08/2009 00:03

...and take your hair shirt with you!

swampster · 20/08/2009 00:06

Unless we can persuade you to try an Itti or a Bedbug or a Blueberry or something from Weenotions? There is pure joy in fluff

JennyPenny22 · 20/08/2009 00:07

Picklemumma - that was a bit random if you are not hanging round for any replys?

Octo - have emailed you

2CB - Love the nappies. If I thought the BBs would be absorbant enough for us then I would have got some but I can't see them lasting the night here. They are soo lovely though.

Tree - Would love it if my nappies were breeding!

newspaperdelivery · 20/08/2009 00:43

OOOOO had decided on owl for a medium bag, but am now swayed by 4 and the funky boho.........Oh God.

at swampster. You always come along at the right moment.

I use 1 tablespoon of Bold in the nappy wash. For regular laundry I use 1/4 the amount suggested on ecover and top up with a thingiemibob whose names escapes me, and use white vinegar and orange blossom oil as softener in the regular wash.

Wish mi ittis would breed Respect to 4. Thats a lot of ittis. Thats alot of nappies.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 20/08/2009 00:56

4: I replied on the other thread with price for pushchair - but expect you saw it already! Hence you trying to find some pennies for it! LOL

newspaperdelivery · 20/08/2009 00:58

OOOO whatcha selling and buying. I ignore my pushchair fetish. I hav ean outlet in nappies and they are cheaper and take up less room [a bit anyway]

newspaperdelivery · 20/08/2009 01:45

You know how with bamboo and all the new styles, nappies have probably got slimmer [but I dunno as I am still a newbie] are those of you with older babies and toddlers finding clothes a problem?

I have some cut4cloth clothes and tbh, they are huge in the bum and the nappies don't fill them! I can imagine they would be needed with some but pockets are quite tidy really aren't they?

Maybe as she gets bigger and needs more boosting I will notice the nappies get bigger and vests and trousers etc will struggle to fit?

mumface · 20/08/2009 07:52

I find Lewis's jeans only fit when he has cloth on.When he goes to Grandmas she put disposibles on him & his jeans fall down!
I always buy vests in one size bigger anyway.

4andnotout · 20/08/2009 07:57

DD3 is 23 m and her nappies are still slim enough to get away with normal clothes, i do prefer to put her in legging outfits rather than jeans though as they can be a bit tight. Not that she ever wears clothes for long!

I'm a pram and nappy addict, i'm a member of this forum too i don't know what i'll do when my last baby potty trains and walks everywhere

Swampy-are you having a nice holiday

I'm off to the market today and then to the chocolate factory, it's really sunny and warm so i'm hoping it'll be a nice day

Rachel-that's a good price just trying to convince dp i might try to flog my ipod or something!

BaronConker · 20/08/2009 09:37

I've always dressed the boys in 'comfy' type clothes - lots of trackie bottoms with elasticated waists and dungarees - but I think I have stretched them by heaving them over cloth, especially the big fat fleece minkies that DS2 always wore. If they ever wear disposables their trousers fall down or I have to turn them over at the waist.

As for washing powder controversy - I do use cloth for environmental reasons, and a large proportion of my nappies are now on their third boy, or have been bought preloved. But people can only do as much as they can do, and I personally draw the line at nasty whiffs. Ecover does not get stuff clean, in the kitchen, bathroom or in my laundry. And I don't want my children to smell of wee, or to be wearing clothes with stains on. That is my line in the sand, and if I go to eco-hell as a result, at least I'll be smelling of mandarin and lime when I get there.

BaronConker · 20/08/2009 09:39

On the topic of pushchairs, I have one on there which NOONE is interested in, so I am now off to reduce it to a silly price. Which means less nappies with the proceeds Oh well, owt is better than nowt, I just hope someone buys it so I can get it out of my downstairs loo!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 20/08/2009 09:49

Baron I am with you about the laundry. I have tried Ecover and it just doesn't do the job.

rusmum · 20/08/2009 10:08

which pushchairs you selling?

TheNatty · 20/08/2009 10:18

lol baron!
i find not much works but biological to get stains out, infact i use vanish stain remover with most of the kids clothes to get the stains out.
otherwise they would go in the bin contributing to land masses?

pah!

i bought 2 new ittis yesterday, couldnt leave them in the shop..
i have 5 now. tee hee!
my tots bots came this morning too so i have lots of nappies to wash today

the sun made all my nappies nice and new looking again yesterday, wasnt it good weather!!

Octothechildherder · 20/08/2009 10:19

I am hoping I will be redeemed for using sanitiser with natural ingredients!

newspaperdelivery · 20/08/2009 10:27

Octo - you must be so sick of me and I'm sorry about this

If I order a large sparrow and a medium owls will you keep the order until it is all in stock?

Thank you for the emails - you always reply so quickly

Baby sick now To tamiflu or not to tamiflu........

I really need to get out of the house!!! Argh!

JennyPenny22 · 20/08/2009 10:38

I have just used the red spotty itti again and it leaked again. I have used it twice now and both times had a poo leak. It was big poo explosions though so not sure if I should blame the nappy or not? I have used my AIO ittis lots with success but this is the snap in one, which I don't seem to be as keen on. Great as I have another 4 on the way! The AIOs dont seem to be around as much though?

Have hurt my shoulders rock climbing last night . Was good fun though.

I am awaiting fluffy post and have a parsel to collect from the sorting office

thebluefoxategreensocks · 20/08/2009 10:39

rusmum: I won't dare try and list any for sale pushchairs on this thread - not after getting in trouble for mere nappies! LOL But I'll list some on the for sale thread shortly - but not the rare (as in, not sold in UK) Kolcraft tandem, as I'm keeping that till 4 decides if she can buy it!

newspaperdelivery · 20/08/2009 10:42

Jenny - if you are not getting on with the spotty someone I know might want it No not me

I don't think they are great with explosions tbh - they are very absorbant but they are not a tight fit at the leg are they? The waterprooflayer doesn't hug the skin on dd. Never had a wee leak since she grew into them though.

JennyPenny22 · 20/08/2009 10:43

Oh no! I hope she gets better soon . Elouise had swine flu so feel free to ask anything.
