blisters on bottom

help! ds woke up this morning with a red bottom and blisters. is this nappy rash? he's not had anything like it before. I guess it must be either nappy rash (he did have a dirty nappy this morning), or a reaction to the swim nappy we used yesterday, or a reaction to food (just started weaning). any ideas anyone? do I need to do something to his nappies (antibac wash or anything?)

Could be citrus fruit - metanium will help. I wouldn't add any new products to your nappy washing until you know the cause as will be something else to eliminate!

DD always got that if she pooed as soon as she woke/before she woke. Just that few extra mins in the dirty nappy made her really sore.
