Toilet seat with handles - a potty training neccessity?

Am just wondering whether we need one. I've bought two so far in preparation for potty training and neither actually seems to fit the seat.

Is it worth persevering and finding one that fits, or will DS be able to hold on to our loo seat?

DD didn't use hers for very long as she kept weeing over the seat onto the floor. She started to prefer not to have it.

we never used a training seat on the toilet - both lo's just sat on the big toilet seat and made sure their legs were wide enough so they didnt fall in.

Okee dok, think I'll return em both.

My DS worries about falling (not sure why cause he never has) and loves his loo seat with handles.

I don't think we'd have had the sucess we have had with potty training without it.

Ours was worth every penny
