Is 40 - or slightly over - too old to have another DC3?

I cant believe I'm even thinking about this before DC2 is here (due in October), but lately I've been feeling sad that this is probably my last pregnancy. (I'll be just off 40 when he/she is born). Of course my mind might definately be made up once I have two of them, but I've just been sitting musing and wondering if being over 40 would be too old to have DC3 - just in case we ever consider going for another?

I know quite a few mothers who fell pregnant at the 42/45 mark and they're doing OK.

I had DC5 at 43.

Not too old, but you'll be tireder than before! Go for it...

(but it might/ could/ probably will take longer to get pregnant)

(but might not!)

I had DC2 at 44, she's now nearly 2. I had DC1 when I was 34. I am more tired now, but have more patience....

I had my last dc at almost 44y. I wasn't any more tired than with the others.

I'm 38wks pregnant with DC3, I'm 41. It's been by far the easiest pregnancy of the 3, much less knackered - it's the birth and the rest of their lives that worries me!
