What's the worst thing your baby has eaten?

I ask because we were in the garden today when DD took a handful of soil, bird poo and all, and shoved it into her mouth before I could react.

Looking back, though, I remember DS2 eating dog biscuits at his granny's house.

Sandy poo is disturbing to say the least.

She also got some paper/card from somewhere with the word 'watch' still on it quite clearly at the other end.
I wanted a pic for prosperity but DH vetoed it

CramItUpYourCramHole · 16/07/2009 21:09

ROFL at these. esp live crab caught on camera phone. Priceless.

LuluMaman · 16/07/2009 21:12

dog food and dog water

mud

found DD sat up against the rabbit hutch licking the rabbit's water bottle spout ..

paper, in fact for ages she seemed to exist solely on newspaper , would not eat shiny paper though, dog biscuits and fluff and dust off the floor

DS was a bit less revolting , but i stopped sterilising when i found him drinking out of the dog bowl

both lovely, healthy children !!

no ill effects at all

Shopping list-only turned away for a sec and DS had eaten half of it. I even rang the doc's to ask for advice as I was worried he would be poisoned by the ink (what a twit).

OmicronPersei8 · 16/07/2009 21:17

Fantstic thread. I feel much better about the day DS took his nappy off and came in with a great pooey rim round his mouth.

JackBauer · 16/07/2009 22:00

Check out my profile for a couple of crab pics to instantly make you feel better.

jackbauer what lovely children you have.

OmicronPersei8 · 16/07/2009 22:14

Oh wow I love the Bender doll!

pispirispis · 16/07/2009 23:09

Another one who took her dirty nappy off and ate some of her poo while smearing it over the cot and walls and her face.

Today she peed on the floor and splashed her hand in the puddle and licked it.

Oh and a dead fly, lots of random dirt off the floor.. (I'm not a neglectful mum, honest!)

ManicMother7777 · 16/07/2009 23:13

a Christmas tree light bulb.

lisad123 · 16/07/2009 23:14

Yuck yuck

BitOfFun · 16/07/2009 23:44

what are ariel liquitabs? They must look very appealing to toddlers considering the number that have tried them!

TamTam29 · 17/07/2009 14:40

aaaaaah - deep breaths - been laughing to much, my sides are killing me!

thought DS drinking out of a dirty (and I mean dirty pothole in the hospital carpark was bad enough!

(was in the care of DH when I spotted him - DS not DH- hunched over, scooping up the water!)

He also loves a bit of gravel from Nannie's garden.

And what is it with random bits of detritus that they find on the floor when they wont even entertain the lovely meal you have lovingly cooked & prepared for them!

A couple of days ago my dd ate 5 contreceptive pills . She looks angelic check out the profile pic but she isnt.

rockinghertosleep · 17/07/2009 16:19

-the soles of her constantly very dirty shoes
-contact lens solution (phoned NHS24 - it's reassuringly non-toxic)
-a canister of Cross fountain pen ink (phoned NHS24 - apparently pen ink manufactured post 1995 no longer contains the highly toxic chemical which used to be in it previously, ours was post 1995, phew!)
-assorted dog chew toys - mmmmm, extra tasty?!?
-raisins which were glued to the bits of her buggy which are apparently only accessible by her tiny fingers and have clearly been there for way longer than I'd like to know about
-any little tidbits which she manages to find on the floor anywhere - I do clean, but even out of the house she's found cheerios, pebbles, unidentified little brown objects...

She's 18 months....

rockinghertosleep · 17/07/2009 16:22

Forgot to add the mouldy bread we'd taken to feed the ducks last week...Yup, it was nibble-worthy. Ick.

I swear she has a stomach made of steel!

Woooozle100 · 17/07/2009 16:25

my cooking

scribblehead · 17/07/2009 16:28

Found a googly eye in DS2s poo this week. Not so gross as some things here but disconcerting to see a poo staring back at me!

scribblehead · 17/07/2009 16:29

pixiemason - ha ha. Mine too. Attempts to try Annabel Karmel have left me weeping!
