How long after having your 2nd DC before you ventured on a shopping trip with both of them?

I only ask because DS2 is due October, there will be a 21mth age gap and I'm panickingwondering about the practicalities.

MY two-year-old is a bit of a nightmare on big supermarket shops, so I prefer to do it when either GPs are looking after him or alone at night. Just less stressful! However when I just have a supplementary basketfulful of shopping to get, I'll often take him in his pushchair and carry the basket on my arm.
So when DC2 comes along later this year, I don't think I'll even contemplate doing the big supermarket shop with them both! There are other options, so why stress myself out?

I rarely go out with all 3 aged 9, 6 and 2 because the eldest wanders off or play the fool (adhd) dd1 loathes shopping and whines everywhere we go and dd2 just whinges full stop.

I get sooo stressed taking all of them out at once
