My ds is on day 2 of potty training with no accidents so far.

He tells me he wants a poo sits on the potty and strains but nothing comes out, as soon as i put his nappy on at night he poos in it.

Any ideas how to get him to do it on the potty?

Our DS was similar; fine with wees but no poos. We had been awarding stickers (on a Tesco sticker chart) for using the potty so we changed it to only getting stickers for a poo. We didn't say "you have to poo on the potty" we just said you can if you want to. It took a few days but he got it eventually, though he was old enough to really get the sticker concept.
