Does hot weather tend to bring on / exacerbate nappy rash?

DS has never had much at all, albeit a tiny bit of soreness now and then immediately around the 'hole'. But in the past 3-4 days, it's really flared up and gone a bit spotty-looking. Sudocrem doesn't seem to be having an effect. I have some Kamillosan, which I have yet to try on this latest bout, but does anyone have any other advice? (besides letting him go nappy-free as much as possible)

I'm hoping that if/when heat cools off it might improve.

if it is a bit spotty looking it could well be thrush - I would probably got to the GPs tbh
