The nursery teacher made me feel so ashamed today !! :- (

It was my daughters sports day yesterday and I dressed her in her nursery uniform, white t-shirt with the school logo and black shorts. I even cleaned her trainers.
Her t-shirt has seen better days really. It's stained yellow from her sun block and there's a couple of small stains that just won't come out. This shirt had been washed and ironed but just never looks clean anymore.
The next day at nursery, her teacher said "I've put her t-shirt in her school bag, I let her borrow a clean one for sports day".
I was soo I am a very tidy person, and she probubly thinks I don't wash my daughters clothes.
If they cost less, I'd buy a load of them but they are not cheep. She also only has 2 weeks left before she breaks up for summer, then she'll be in proper uniform.

why sould she need a 'clean one' for sports day when she's going to get all grassy and sweaty and even more covered in sun block.

old, tatty, stained clothes are fine for nursery because she'll only get paint/ sunblock./snot on them.

Agree with pp - it's obvious when something is permanently stained, not unwashed, and that sort of thing happens to children's clothes. Cheeky and judgemental.

Utterly ridiculous for a nursery to have any white garments as part of their uniform!

She probably didn't mean anything personal but she really shouldn't have said that.

what ssd said. Almost all of ds's white school shirts have ground-in stains that I just can't shift by this time of year. Anyone with eyes in their head and a nose on their face can tell the difference between a garment that has been washed but also worn regularly by a small child and one that is actually dirty!

(My mother swears by net curtain whitener - apparently that was the reason I was the only child at infant school with bright white socks in an an area with very heavy clay soil. BUT even that doesn't work on ds's school shirts.)

I thought that was the point of nursery uniform. The kids can have fun without worrying about spoiling their clothes. When I see the state she gets in to I realise it's acctually good she has a uniform. Although it dosn't look good, it serves a perpose.

oh and I would n't return the other one unless "reminded" !

Yes she is LIZS, she has one term starting in september, then her new school will take her from January. I doubt they'll be so fussy.

LIZS- I'll probubly see it added to my end of term bill. Lol
