I just wanted to say a huge thank you to those people who replied to my thread yesterday about their early morning routines and coping with a new born.
Last night I laid DD's school clothes out and told her that first thing she'd get dressed whilst I got dressed. At 7am she got up and got dressed on her own. I then did her hair and then we went downstairs for breakfast. The incentive of 'play' after breakfast worked, she took just half an hour to eat a bowl of cereal (this is a world record for her), we cleaned teeth, washed face and then she played until 8:15am when we left for school.
It was soooo much easier and far less stressful than out previous breakfast and then get dressed routine. I even had spare time where I got to do those lovely chores like unload the dishwasher, put a load of washing on...I feel like I've done something already! lol
Anyway, thanks again. This is going to work brilliantly.
