My Crap Mother Moment of the weekend was...

...telling DP the completely wrong time for the school Summer fair

Which meant they turned up just as it was finishing

There was nothing left to do, see, or buy

DD1 saw all her friends strolling out with painted faces and handfuls of fairy cakes

I felt like bloody weeping when he told me

Let's hope she's not scarred for life

(I did feel bad though - was at work)

A mum and child (that we didn't know very well - winces all round) once turned up at my house a week before my DD's birthday party (at least they didn't miss it) and I can think of loads of times when people have missed completely/ turned up at the end of parties and suchlike. It happens. I'm rubbish at details, so if DH asks what time such-and-such starts, I reply 'Whatever it says on the note'.
