i think you should focus on your own DD. Tell her it is horrible to call people names and you are not to hear her say that again. Ask her how she would feel etc..

I think you had the right talk to your daughter.

I would go to the nursery teacher as well but I would not talk about bukllying .Just make them aware that your Dd and some other children have given the little girl a nasty nickname and if they could kee an wye on it?

Not something like this, but I'd just say to the staff something like "DD told me that the children at nursery all call Jane 'smelly Jane'. Obviously I've told her that it's unkind to call names like that, but I wondered whether you've noticed anything like this going on". I did approach DS's staff about a different issue but in that kind of way and they were very helpful and made sure there was a lot of appropriate discussion and positive reinforcement going on at circle time.
