Night accidents, any way of stopping?

Ds1 (3.5) has been potty trained for a while & for a few months now hasn't worn a nappy at night. But in the last couple of months he's started having accidents overnight, about 2-3 times a week.

Short of putting him back in nappies is there anything we can do to try & stop it? We've tried putting him on the toilet when we go to bed but that just wakes him up & he can be awake for a couple of hours then.

Any other suggestions? tia
