I dont like my HVs

they clearly dont understand the centile charts as they think that babies smaller than 50 % are a problem,
they do notget BLW AT ALL

Got letter today from hvsaying if we take dd for a 1 yearold assesment we would get a pack of books

bribery or what

Hi there - am a HV too (and I HATE centile charts with a passion for just the reasons you've listed above).

If you register at the library I think you can get the books there so bypassing the HV completely.

Have you got any concerns about your DD's development. If not then you could always ring and cancel. Say you have no concerns.

The books are quite good, you can get them from the library though

You don't have to go

Free books are for you to pick up while you're there.

At this check they are AFAIK supposed to be handed over during a discussion about encouraging children to become interested in books and developing their concentration span.

They may therefore not be available at the library.

But you prob don't need them anyway do you?

Don't fret - just ring up and say "thanks but no thanks"?
