hi there would just like t no how much formula feed your 2week olds were taking and how often?

my little one is taking 3.5 to 4 oz every 3.5 hours roughly but now and again in between bottles say after 2hours shes wanting t take another 1 to 1.5 oz i no all babies are different some like more some less but when i told a friend how much she drinks her reply was that the formula cannot be feeding her. babie as been weighd twice since her birth weight and both times shes put on weight she went from 7lbs to 7lb 8.5oz in 11days so surley its feeding her?

What do you mean by 'feeding her'? Do you mean 'satisfying her'?

IMO you should be demand feeding your dd. She'll take what she wants when she wants it. It sounds like this is what you are doing, so I wouldn't worry.

thanks 2cats yes im giving baby her bottle as and when she demands. was just a little worried as friend seemed to think the babys drinking to much for her age and yes not satisfying her enough.

As long as you are mixing the formula as per the instructions, you shouldn't worry. Your friend sounds like she might be talking out of her arse.

What's your health visitor like? It might be worth talking to her if she's sane.

to be honest my ds was a big feeder was feeding every hour at this age

i used to keep a diary so i could see how much he'd had and then if he only had few ounces out of 4 ounce bottle i knew he'd be hungry sooner

once draining bottles add extra ounce

i just fed when he wanted it to be honest he was a ball on legs until he started moving his appetite has stayed as big although now he is long and slim

i agree demand feed i know people that refuse to feed until the 4 hrs is up regardless of if the baby didnt drink all milk first time round drives me mad lol

she has a tiny little stomach that needs feeding little and often, you are doing just the right thing, your baby is putting on weight and doing fine, i can safely say your friend is talking rubibsh

I'm pretty sure I fed ds2 every 2-3 hours at that stage.

If she has put on all that weight she is doing just fine.
