.........flameboy is sat on flame lap, and she is completely subconcsiously (or least, she was until she realised what she was doing) going thru flameboys hair and picking at him. (he is nit-free BTW, I think it stems from habit now)

I do the same whenever mine come sit on me (and radiate towards teenage spots too)

like the 'gorilla mums' you see on the animal documentary;s...((hasten to add that I am not suggesting we are gorillas BTW)).

Just shampoo should do the glue tbh.

The picking for me started with cradle cap and has carried on...

Worry ye not, God's holy tax accountant will grip you tight and raise you from perdition. Demons will be smited in the process. Cradle cap picking is a wee bit mud monkey though I have to say. I'll send my dd over. She's 2 and still has a lot of cradle cap. I don't pick at it.

castille · 26/05/2009 13:25

I don't pick, but I do have to wrap DS's curls around my fingers when he's on my lap.

And I am also compelled to zap the odd blackhead on my DDs.

Actually it probably does run in the family. I always used to wonder how DS managed to use so much PVA glue & get it everywhere till one day I found him deliberately covering his hands in it.

Naturally I asked him why & he said "Because it's so nice to pick it off when it dries..."

sockmonkey · 26/05/2009 13:35

My name is sockmonkey and I am a picker... and a ruffler... and a squeezer

GoodGrrrlGoneBad · 26/05/2009 13:35

TitsalinaBumsquash · 26/05/2009 14:06

I do this my boys can't come near me with me rummaging in thier hair.

Im not sure why i do it, we have had a problem with DS2 and nits but they can't live on DS1's head but i do it to him to. I also do it to DP.

My mum does it to me and my sisters though.
