Homestart

We used it about a year ago for a year as we have DS with SN. Are you ok?

chimchar · 26/05/2009 08:46

home start is country wide. you can refer yourself, or ask your hv to refer you. it may take a little while though to find a volunteer to match you with....

if you need immediate time out, can you go to a local gym or leisure centre with a creche and leave your child for an hour or two and go and have a swim/coffee/sitdown just for some time out?

sometimes you need to put your needs first....are you ok? x

hope you are ok

Ironically Homestart phoned me today to see if we are still receiving help (we stopped last July)

Home start link for you to contact.

I have a DD with SN, and now 2 other DDs. I first had home start when I was pregnant with DD3 (she is now 6 weeks). It is wonderful.

Other short-term life saving solutions - find a church/voluntary based toddler group where people want to play with your children while you have a cup of tea.

Homestart can also supply short term emergency support if needed. Give them a ring.

I have a homestart working she is fantastic and is becoming a firm family friend.

Is there anything else that you think would help you?
