am looking for a yahoo group, blogs, etc for more info

am enjoying main thread but didn't want to clutter it up with links and discussion.

Read very good blog entry on it this morning on children are people (think it might be onwardsandupwards? correct me if I am incorrect) and now inspired to learn more than "we try to find common preferance"

carried-family.blogspot.com/ is a good blog, (use the tags) plus her site which has some good links on it: www.freewebs.com/carried-family/.

Oh - section on discipline is under Attachment Parenting (on website) or link at the bottom of front page.

Here's the official Yahoo group:

There is also an unmoderated Google group:

yes, that's my blog [preens]

are you wanting to read about the theory? then this is the obvious place to look

If you are wanting to talk about real experiences with real families then you need to get to know the relevant people, because people who label themselves as TCS don't tend to post much detail about their children in public places without permission from the children Leave a comment on my blog and then I'll email you and that'll be a start. Or come and befriend me on the UK HE friends ning place. My avatar is a hot air balloon

And also to say that there are all sorts of places one can learn about consentual family life - TCS is just one flavour of a philosophy which also gets expressed through unschooling, autonomous HE (so Jan Fortune Wood is a relevant writer there), the Natural Child project (Jan Hunt), that Kabatt Zinn book (is it everyday blessings? I was allergic to it when I read it but I think the ideas are pretty good), UP as well, as far as it goes...

thanks for links esp yahoo!

I get the ideas behind TCS , and its bascially how we've always parented, but more than that, how dp and I have always engaged with each other. Had no idea until yesterday that there was a yahoo group though!

my big issue is using TCS with 3 quite young kids, the oldest one is fine with it if it is us and him but the younger two are not up to it really, as much as anything because the amount of time spent negotiating (and there needs to be a lot of time spent on this as they are quite small and learning) is too much.

Also though I think I am pretty lucky in having a lot of good friends with young kids, I don't know many with several kids at all-mainly only children-and the few families I know with several kids are very child centred (which is fine-it works for them-but not for us). So I need somewhere to troubleshoot a bit, I think, as my big issues are around TCS in a family with several small kids.
my big problem

thanks onward, will try to get over the the HE forum. But how do I befriend you? Do I bake you lots of chocolate muffins and flick my hair a lot? I do like your blog.

lol. choc muffins would do the trick. or just click the button on that forum which says "add as friend" when you find my hot air balloon avatar

ommmward · 25/05/2009 15:04

oh, btw, the discussions on the tcs email lists can be... erm... abstruse. If you are wanting non-nit picky conversation, then the (very quiet but there are still people checking in) tcscommunity messageboard is a good place to be.

CherryChoc · 26/05/2009 22:44

Oh, hello ommmward, I didn't know you were on here!

(Don't want to connect my MN account with others so - as a clue lol - my name is similar to one day forever)

Fillyjonk · 27/05/2009 08:52

onwards, think I have just friended you on the site but clicked wrong button due to incompentance and didn't leave a message. My avatar is me peering into a camera, and I have an old lady name, if that helps.
