I have finally persuaded DH to have one more baby!!!

we have a 2 year old and a 3 year old and a 12 year old DSS.

Is it really really harder to have three little ones than two?

How do you do it if you have?, and if you had your time again would you spread them out more?

all views most welcome

DD2's arrival 8mths ago gave me 3 under 4's. DS was 3yr 8mth and DD1 was 2yr 6mth when DD2 was born.

Yes it is def. harder with 3 so young but the baby years don't last. Simple things like doing the shopping can be quite challenging, trying to keep them all occupied/with the trolly plus actually getting what you need into the trolly. When I can I try and "divide and conquer", leaving older ones with DH but that isn't always an option with his work patterns. The biggest plus is that DS & DD1 are "instant" playmates and have coped with having to share my attention with new baby very well. They can fight like cat and dog and do but they look out for each other too.

I wouldn't spread them out more, would have had them closer but my body needed time to recover (suffered from SPD, requiring crutches for months - that really made the shopping with 2 toddlers hard! ). My SIL is currently pg with DC3, DS will be 7 the day after her due date and DD 4.75yrs - That spacing is my idea of hell but it suits them so who am I to argue iykwim.

I had 4 under 5 - it has been great fun! now the oldest is 7, youngest is 2 and a half its getting easier.
We have lots of one to one time - I'll take the oldest out for dinner (frankie and bennies!) others might want to go to a farm park, youngest does mum/toddler music classes with me. They are all happy caring and funny children and I wouldtn' change a thing!
