Bottom Wiping

So, ds is now doing poos in the potty (sometimes) but i'm finding it hard wiping his bum - i get him to stand up but its then a bit difficult to do it - how do you do it?
And when do they start wiping their own? - and do they do it standing or sitting on potty/loo?

I ask my DD to touch her toes She can wipe hrself with tissue if just a wee, wouldn't trust her to do anything more just yet.
