We are doing Legoland soon and I fancied eating out in Windsor one day - any suggestions for nice family places?

The good old favourites such as Pizza Express & Zizzi's are on the twisting road descending in front of the entrance to the Castle.

Alternatively, you head into the old station shopping arcade (directly opposite the castle entrance) & there are heaps of little cafes & Carluccios in there.

For lunch or afternoon snack, try the cafe on the first floor of Daniels (just behind the arcade), they sell chocolate pancakes. Warning though - this cafe is on the toy floor & toy trains run round the ceiling. My kids looooove it but I always warn them that I WILL NOT buy anything before we go in!

To get a bit of town & river combined, there is a Browns down by the river/Eton bridge. Food is good but whenever I've been in the service has been slow & unimpressive. The view is nice though, you can watch the skiffs & swans compete on the river.

Alternatively, take a picnic & there are good parks to either side of town by the river... Yummy things to be bought at the Windsor Estate Farm shop on the road into Old Windsor.

Have fun.
