3 1/2 yr old, previously well trained, now having minor accidents in the night? Should I worry?

Ds, has been good without nappies at night for a good couple of months now, but the last week or so has been waking up crying with just slightly damp undies...will go for a wee & is then OK.. ( has done it maybe 3 nights out of the week...) .Is this normal? We haven't changed any part of the nightime routine...I'm assuming it's just a normal part of getting there...I'm looking for reassurance I suppose. So far he hasn't drenched the bed ( hope I didn't just jinx it).............

Hello - sounds familiar. I think this sounds v normal. Kids go through phases of wetting and it sounds like that. Does he wet at a consistent time? If so, try putting him on the potty just before then to avoid a wet bed - he'll probably do it in his sleep. I think he's doing v well for a 3.5 year old. My 5 year old still wets now and again and will go through a run of nights when obviously something in her brain is just telling her to go. Good luck and make sure you protect his mattress otherwise his room will start to smell like an old peoples' home.

Thanks for that, I thought about waking him up to go, but it's not at a consistant time, and it's just a tiny bit, just seemed a bit odd after being OK for ages. Don't worry, matress WELL protected...I work as a nurse, so really don't want the lovely waft of pee when at home as well!
