I'm so glad I'm such a bad judge of other parents

I just met again a woman who was in my NCT pregancy class, which we went to 18 or so months ago. Then, she was a Russian ex-stripper/bought bride (yes, judgemental, but she had long false nails, too much Dolce & Gabbana tight clothes, long blonde hair, a fab figure and a local husband, and there are LOTS of Russian strippers here for all the bars). She was adament that she wanted to be unconsious for the birth, she was going to bottle feed from the start, she didnt want to lose her figure, she didnt want a girl as she felt girls were useless (!!) and generally, she was the most precocious, un-maternal, artificial person I'd met for a long time. I left the group feeling VERY sorry for the new baby. Well I met her accidentially at a playcentre yesterday, and the little girl is great, the mother is STILL breastfeeding her, and after talking with her for a while, I was just SOOO chuffed that I had got her all wrong, and how well she turned out as a mum.
I was just so pleased, that I thought I'd share this. Thanks!

It is so funny what us women say before our babies arrive.

I have been watching my neighbour with her 5mth old DD with a wry smile (she who thought natural births/breastfeeding was disgusting, wanted to get a live in Nanny straight away and go back to work after 2 months). She is still BF'ing, no Nanny in sight and she is a lovely, relaxed Mother who clearly adores her DD.
