DD is a runner. Any thoughts on curbing this (bad) habit?

Can someone help. My two year old DD is very active and gets lots of opportunity to run off her energy. Very much struggling though with trying to teach her to stay with me when we are out and she often runs off to explore. Using a pram not always possible. Would love to hear some good techniques to get the message across to her. Thanks.

Hmmm well the only thing that worked with mine was I took a pushchair or buggy with me everywhere and she was told hold my hand or sit in the pushchair - I only had to do it several times before she got the message. You could do the same with a wrist strap.

We use a littlelife backpack for DS2 as he is a runner as well. The part the parent holds is a hoop which is great to link your arm through so you can still hold hands and there is also a handle at the top of the backpack that can be used to hold onto as well. DS2 now wears the backpack, but we don;t hold it unless he does try run, and he knows that once he walks with us again we will let go.
