ok background; OH is in the navy and has 3 weeks at home for when baby is due. now as much as i want him to enjoy being home with baby, im aware of how tired i will be when baby is born and also that once his three weeks are up i will be on my own with ds(3.8) and the baby. so i think its fair that i take a step back and use it as a chance to catch up on rest while he is home but being the control freak that i am, i know i will end up doing the things i want him to do and then resent that im not getting any rest. so how do i let go for those few weeks and not get annoyed that the house isnt really that tidy and that ironing isnt done and the washing maybe isnt done how i do it. i know i sound horrendous which is why im asking for advice because i dont want us to be rowing when we should be enjoying new baby. and i know if we row over these things it will be my fault.

can you focus only on your new baby for the first week (set yourself a time limit!) Let him do everything for you and ds for that time, then see how it's all going. Only a week to be biting your tongue!!!
