I have decided to completely relax about going to groups, classes and nursery for a while and I am having such a wonderful time with DD

We have had a period of really bad illness which ended up with a hospitalisation for DD 2.4. Consequently we have been at home for these past 2 weeks resting, (dodging swine flu lol) chilling and just relaxing and spending time together just us and it has been fab.

I know it's not plausable to do nothing at all, but it has made me realise how obsessed iI was with getting her out to all these activities which are just not really necessary. I was really pressured to do so and I got sucked into it all. I will cancel a couple and relax about it. You really don't have to do this and spend so much on "children's entertainment" ....

Good for you Crush and you are absolutely right.

Cardboard box, glue, paint BUT NO GLITTER (I loathe glitter) and the kids are happy.

Trip to the park cuts it, to be honest!

So true, I think it's something you learn over time

Dunno about that - I'll tell you when I figured it out - the day we went to Baby Orchestra at a local library. Complete bollocks and full of parents wearing fairaisle chunky knits! I bailed out at that point and the park became our trip of choice
