Pregabalin - anyone any experience of it?

MS raised it's ugly head when I got pregnant with dd (now nearly 10) but wasn't actually diagnosed until nearly 3 years later. It's supposed to be RR but it never goes away. I am in constant pain and have mobility problems, and I am sooooooooooo tired all the time.

My neurologist has just prescribed pregabalin, and today I went to the doc to get the prescription. He said at first that he would rather start me off on the dosages the pain clinic use (75mg, twice a day for a week, the dose rising over the next two weeks). These dosages were lower than the ones specified by the neurologist.

Then the doc decided that he would start it more gradually still so that what I have now is 25mg twice a day for 3 days, then 50mg twice a day for 3 days and then it'll be 75mg twice a day for a week, at which point I have to ring him. He said I was quite sensitive to medication which is presumably why he's being cautious.

I have just collected my prescription and read through the leaflet and it has scared me stupid, (and all this because I'd asked the neuro to give me modafanil! sp?).

Has anyone here any experience of pregabalin? Please tell it isn't really as bad as it sounds. I was half hoping for a miracle (though I knew of course it wouldn't be.)
