Pull up Cloth nappies and how to potty train whilst out!

DD has resumed potty training (after we gave up for a couple of months) and she's doing really well.
The only problems we're running into are at night and when we go out. At the moment I'm still putting her to bed in her night nappies (motherease onesize) which she can't take off but tonight she was yelling that she wanted to use the potty before she went to sleep.
Are there any good cloth nappies that she can take off and put back on again? They need to be easy as she's just getting the hang of dressing and quite absorbant as she's a heavy wetter.
I was also wondering if it's worth just leaving her nappy off but making sure the bed is covered with one of those mattress protector thingies?
And how do you manage when you go out? I'm not really keen on the idea of carrying a potty round and whipping her pants off in the street but at the same time she doesn't want to be in 'little baby nappy pants' anymore.
Any ideas would be much appreciated as my Mum and my MIL both have different suggestions so that's me stuck.

I have used the kushies bright training pants - don't like kushies nappies but these have been great for toilet training as they hold a full wee. The bright ones are quite soft aswell. You can get them from Perfectly Happy People / thebabycatalogue.com - may be worth scouring the second hand sites too.
