Ok I'd like to ask some questions to help with my essay on The Guardian: comparison of design for the web and design for print

hope you can help any answers appreciated (apart from really rude ones!)

  1. Do you use an online news website?

If so which one do you use mostly and how often do you access it?

  1. Do you buy a daily newspaper?

If so which one do you buy most regularly?

  1. Do you ever use The Guardian online?

If so what do you use it for mostly?

  1. Do you tend to browse the whole site or just read one or two main articles?

  2. Do you access any other newspaper website?
    a) If so, which one?
    b) is it better, worse or the same as Guardian online?
    c) do you use it for anything other than to catch up with the News?

  3. Do you prefer to catch up with news?
    a) Online
    b) In a newspaper
    c) Watch it on TV / Listen to radio news.

  4. Which newspaper supplements do you read?

  5. Do you read more of a newspaper than you would if the same content was online?

  6. What do you think are the differences in the content of printed and online newspapers?

  7. Do you think people are ever likely to use online news sites more than newspapers?

  8. would you like to write my essay for me as I am a bit stuck actually

I printed these questions and asked DH to ask his work colleagues. He gave me a 'look' and said that none of them read newspapers! how helpful

Thankyou

  1. Do you use an online news website?
    yes
If so which one do you use mostly and how often do you access it?
BBC news - usually once/twice a day, unless there's something I am particularly interested in, in which case more often.

  2. Do you buy a daily newspaper?
    no
If so which one do you buy most regularly?

  3. Do you ever use The Guardian online?
    yes

If so what do you use it for mostly?
news if there is something that interests me, but every week for the live football updates (they're fab, you should read them!)

  1. Do you tend to browse the whole site or just read one or two main articles?
depends on what I'm looking for, if I'm bored and "reading the paper" I'll do it all, mostly I just go straight to the bits I want to actively read.

  2. Do you access any other newspaper website?
Occasionally if someone links to an article on here then I'll browse the whole paper. Never off my own back though
    a) If so, which one?
For some reason it's nearly always the Daily Mail
    b) is it better, worse or the same as Guardian online?
    oh much worse
    c) do you use it for anything other than to catch up with the News?
    nope

  3. Do you prefer to catch up with news?
    a) Online
    b) In a newspaper
    c) Watch it on TV / Listen to radio news.
Generally a, followed by c (and the radio in the car)

  4. Which newspaper supplements do you read?
    none

  5. Do you read more of a newspaper than you would if the same content was online?
    n/a

  6. What do you think are the differences in the content of printed and online newspapers?
    adverts

  7. Do you think people are ever likely to use online news sites more than newspapers?
    I do already

  8. would you like to write my essay for me as I am a bit stuck actually
um... how many bottles of wine will you give me if I do?
