chicken pox but no itching or fever... yet??

hi, ds was sent home from nursery today with suspected chicken pox, he has spots on his back and chest. i've checked pics of chicken pox online and it looks similar...

thing is he's been fine all afternoon, no itching or fever, is this normal? am i speaking too soon or maybe it's not chicken pox?

i have the calpol, calamine and antihistemine on standby!

any thoughts please!! x

hi my kids didnt have a temp.the spots normally take 4-5 days to all come out so by tomorrow morning you will know if it is chicken pox.hope hes ok

DD was perfectly fine too. No itching and no fever at all. It's worse actually, because she (and I!) were climbing the walls after 5 days in isolation!

how many days should i keep him indoors if the spots develop overnight? i have a 6 month old too is it inevitable he will get it too? much prefer it if he does to be honest!

He is still infectious until 24hrs after the last spot appears. (I think, I'm sure someone will correct me, if I'm wrong!) I checked DD every day, from memory, it's a long time ago. She was only off school for 5 days though, I remember that.

Highly likely that baby will get it too, I'm afraid. But at least it's over and done with.

please dont quote me but im sure hes infectious until all the spots have scabbed over thats when the nursery will take him back,your little one will probably get it but my dd got it so did my mindees but my ds didnt he still hasnt had it and i bathed him with his sister
