Im supposed to be going away next Friday for a few days (leave early Friday morning return Sunday afternoon) and Im worried about leaving DD. She is 17 months and is very clingy to me. She will be with DH and DS whos 8 and shes very close to them, its just she seems to prefer me for certain things over DH. He does the bathtime and putting on of pyjamas, and shes fine with him, but sometimes she gets upset if he goes to her at night and calls for me.
I know she will be well looked after and DH will keep her busy, reading books with her, taking her to the park with DS but Im just worried in case she cries for me.
So my question to you fellow Mums what would you do in my situation?
Go and hope shes ok and potentially be closer to DH when I return (or be even worse when I get back!)or stay and go away when shes a bit older and perhaps less clingy?

Go. She will be fine. I was wary of leaving my first child and didn't leave her overnight until I had to (because I was in hospital) when she was 2 and a half. She was fine. I left my son when he was 14 months old for a long weekend and he barely even noticed I was gone. This made me wish I has done it earlier with DD as I had missed out on so many things. She will be with her Dad who loves her as much as you do so there is nothing to worry about. Even if she does get a little upset he will distract her and she will get over it. You deserve a break so take it and enjoy yourself.
