Entertainment ideas thread! 12 - 18 months!

I'm just wondering if anyone feels like sharing their great ideas for entertaining their little one's in the 12 - 18 month area!

I was chatting to a friend, and it turns out we both play different games each other didn't even think of doing with ours....

SO it may be nice to share a few!

SO for now...

Little world toys (little people, happyland etc) - I talk and make up silly day to day stories, and lots of singing with the animals on the farm!

Books - mostly touchy feely still, but some with clear pictures, also leap pad (the baby one!)

Building towers - we use peekablocks, also cds and dvds as ds seems more enthusiastic with these!

Painting - with brushes and fingers (and a dummy too else they all go in the mouth!)

Naming body parts and 'where is' games!

Now the nice weather is here (sometimes!) - I let ds play outside.
Have got a sandpit although he prefers to put the lid on it - let the rain collect and then splash in the water.
Mainly musical toys for dancing, Wiggles dvd and sorter shapes.

two saucepans and two wooden spoons always goes down a treat

mine is 15 months and loves to:

pull all bookshelves off book case

play in pillows and cushions, i pile them on top of her and she fights her way out laughing her head off

climb up everything (her not me)

Chase the hoover

Ermm - gardening (bit messy)

'Helping' fold the washing

Don't really do any games as such as I only see her for an hour a day really. We often sing 'Heads and shoulder knees and toes - she only really knows toes though'

She copies me on yoga too - downward dog is her best move.

stick them in a cardboard box, attach a rope and drag them around the house/garden, works with a washing basket too, especially if the washing is piled in on top of them until only the top of their head is visible!

I do the same thing with the washing basket beansmum! Except I pile the clothes on top of DD and then rock the basket (simulating rough seas)

We also make huts under the furniture and chase each other around

I love the 'copying yoga'

yeah she's really funny coz she looks up to smile at me and that always makes her fall over. she doesn't mind though. tries to do shoulder stand and does a cool sort of rolly polly

My dd loves drawing. I've just bought some chalks for her to use outside on the paving slabs.
She also likes sticking. I got a load of cuttings from the garden and she loves putting the glue on the paper with the spreader and sticking all the bits on.

At the moment her favourite thing is being in the garden and copying what I do like digging in the soil and she has her own mini lawnmower (dirt cheap from some pound type shop) and she follows me round when I cut the grass.
