ds is still fitting into his size 7/8 crocs from last year but want to get him another pair of sandals, thinking of birkenstock type. can anyone recommend leather sandals that are comfy and look good for an active 3 yr old?

thanks!

ds had some Doodle sandals last year that were great, but not leather. Next do some, I think but not sure if available yet.

DS wore his Birkies for the first time last weekend and they really rubbed him. He's got some Geox 'action' sandals (our name for them) and they're fab - comfy and allow him to climb, run, jump with no problems. In fact I'd recommend all Geox shoes as he had some over winter as well and they still look as good as new.

DS had fab Ricosta sandals last year - they looked a bit like climbing shoes. His Ecco crocodile ones were lovely too

Birkenstock do ones for little boys - DS has some - navy with brightly coloured buckles.

Looking at the White Company link, one thing I would say is that IME its easier to get ones with velcro closing rather than buckles.

They're just easier to get on and off, enabling the child to do it/help and also they seem to fit better (especially if they have chubby feet like my DS!)

I got these for DS recently, I like the fact they have a closed toe.
