Hanging on for the night time nappy...

Potty training DS (2.9) and while he is great with weeing, he's waiting until he has his nappy on at night to do a poo. So he then has to be changed and isn't asleep until 9ish (after going to bed at 7/7.30). I want him to be comfortable going to the loo and to go to sleep at night time.

I know this is a common problem and I think we just need one or two successful 'poos in the loo' to solve it. We were thinking about keeping him up on Friday evening as he will have to go at some point. Then we will be over the top with the praise and hopefully that will be the start.

Is this a good idea or has anyone any suggestions?

Sounds like a great idea...

what about giving some prunes / dreid apricots in the afternoon to 'help it along'?

how about risking no night-time nappies at all - then when he's fast asleep stick one on him
