Any dentists out there-I need advice?

Our dentist has just said dtwin1 has a tooth with enamel not formed properly so we need to keep an eye on it. He said we need to use adult tooth paste 3 X a day and only drink milk/water. This should be for all 3 dc 5,5 and 4.

I'm confused as thought they should be using kids toothpaste because of the risk of fluorosis (sp?). Surely adult paste 3 X a day is a lot of fluoride.

Also is it ok for them to have juice at meal times. I don't want to put milk in their packed lunches and one isn't keen on water in his lunch bag as it tastes.

Many thanks

Hi, I posted on this in children's health section earlier this year as dd1 has the same problem. From the responses I got it is obviously more common that I had realised.

dd 1 has to use adult toothpaste twice a day and we have to rub adult toothpaste on her teeth twice a week. We still have juice at mealtimes but water at all other times.

Good luck
