DS gone to bed without a nappy on tonight - should I get him up before we go to bed to put him on the loo?

ILs said that's what they used to do, but I don't want to disturb him unnecessarily. He has been fully trained for a while now and his nappy is usually dry in the mornings so I thought we'd give it a try.

We've never done this - don't think it's recommended now.

Hope you have dry sheets in the morning!

If he has been dry in the day for some time and usually has dry night nappies, I would definitely not bother lifting him.

This is normally done when little ones are still having wet night nappies.

I'm sure he'll be fine and if the worst does happen you can lift him tomorrow night.

Good - I was hoping you'd say that, I can't really be bothered with the extra faff right now! Will keep you posted...

We did lift ds - but he did potty train at 26mo - and he definitely wouldn't have lasted through the night. However, we have stopped lifting him now (he's just 4) and have had no problems.

Oh yeah - he's 2.8, does that make a difference?

Based on the floods that we had when we lifted ds and put him on the potty (or loo on a seat later) when we went to bed, there is absolutely no way that his bladder would have coped for the night!

For us and our ds, we thought it was best to lift him - no wet beds, no angst and ds was straight back to sleep without any problem - and we've now stopped lifting him and have had no problems....

Bingo - 1 dry night!

Hurray, hopefully that's it now, no more nappies for DS1!
