Ok so I knew it going to come at some point. But with ds nearly 3, dd 1, and me 34weeks pregnant with spd I really dont think this is the best time!! Have been stuck in the house not doing half as much as we would normally for ages as it is because of the spd now we are in quarintine for 2 weeks - will I ever be able to leave the house?????

My ds1 had it when I was 36 wekks pg with ds2 and also on crutches due to spd. I decided that it was probably best that he had it then, rather than once the new baby was here.

Have you got friends whose lo's have already had cp? They'd probably be happy to come round to play as long as your ds feels ok in himself.

My 6 month old has it at the momment. It is a pain isn't it! How are dc? My dd had it last year at 2 and was fine. But ds has it now and is really quite ill.

However I don't think you have to be in total querentine do you? Definitely not for 2 weeks. Once the blisters dry over they are not contagious and anyway its only relly imunosupressed people and pregnant people who have to worry about it, most parents want their dc to get it young. I have to take ds to doctors today and called to explain about him having chickenpox and they said not to worry. They would put us in a side room but only so we don't get looks form people disapporving of seeing baby with a rash. He wasn't worried about infecting people.

Also if you can find friends who want their kids to get it or have allready had it then you are fine.

Anyway good luck

Bicarbonate in the bath really helped ds when he was at his worse (spots started saterday and is definietly over the worse)

but I asl wanted to say -poor you with spd That must be so so horrid. Never had it myself but hear it can be terrible!

I think my idea of total quarintine might have been a slight over reaction but most of our friends are either pregnant or have just had tiny ones. So we are the social outcasts lol

They both seem fine at the moment infact if anything the rash seems to have gone down!!!

The spd is literally a pain in the ass but im counting down the days till the end now...
